Before You Say I Do Online

Updated: Aug 30, 2021

Buying into the right Initial Coin Offering (ICO) could be a great financial step for your future. In the past, I have been able to earn multiples of my investment through the purchase of a highly profitable ICO. However, there are key things you need to understand and do prior to staking your money on an ICO.

Before funding a new digital asset project, make sure the opportunity has a genuine team behind it.

The first question you need to ask is: does the project have a face?

I have invested in projects that did not have a genuine team and within months all my investments went down the drain. I lost every single penny of my investments. There are projects that the person or persons on the project team are misrepresented or do not even exist.

When researching the featured team members of a project, LinkedIn is a very useful place to check out the background, experience and education of the team members. Do the activities of the featured team members correlate with the project? How many followers or likes do they have on Facebook and Twitter?

I once researched a trading programme but when I noticed that there appeared to be only one team member with insufficient information on the Internet, I got cold feet. The programme also had a Facebook page with no face to it just a building and about 700 likes. The biggest red flag for me was the fact that the name of the company appeared in like 3 different formats with different startup dates!

However, several hundreds of persons went ahead and invested with this programme.

I also went ahead and invested hundreds of dollars in an ICO after watching a YouTube video of someone who went to the company’s fake address, as shown on their website, and confirmed that the company did not exist at that address. Can you imagine that?

During our second webinar in the DigiAssets series, you will learn five more things to look out for when investing in ICOs or choosing digital assets that will make up your digital assets portfolio. What are the red flags that you should look out for?

Do not be lazy when making investment decisions, do your research.

The webinar will also cover building your portfolio and the various ecosystems that make up the digital assets space.
